1/10: The Lost DojoTV Tapes:
With the recent agreement reached between Fox Sports and The UFC, mixed martial arts is officially being ushered into a new era of exposure, destined to establish it as a truly mainstream sport. The journey to UFC legitimacy began in earnest on the night of November 17th, 2000 in Atlantic City New Jersey at The Trump Taj Mahal. It was UFC 28, "High Stakes", and it was the first legally sanctioned UFC event, ever… DojoTV was there.
UFC 28 (Dubbed "Legal UFC 1") is part of a collection of UFC events which fell victim to the demise of the league's original owners, SEG Sports, and as such has never been released to DVD or home video. This is arguably the most important UFC event ever held, and the time for the story to be told is now. The tide is rising for everyone in mma, and a proper history of the evolution of the sport is long over due.
UFC -1, The Lost DojoTV Tapes offers a unique, insider look at not only the sport, but some of the people who helped make it great. Men like Pat Miletich, Randy Couture, Jens Pulver, Matt Hughes, and many others.MMA enthusiasts Chris Thomas and Joe Wolf have been following MMA around with a camera for twelve years shooting "reality tv" before the genre even existed, and now,we hope to release this material in a series of documentaries dedicated to bringing greater understanding to the sport, the athletes who participate, and their roots in the martial arts.
UFC-1, The Lost DojoTV Tapes, is the first of a series of MMA productions in development, and with your help, we recount the history and tell the stories in the manner they deserve. Please donate!!!
